The Mines Multiplier Formula
Mines multipliers are not arbitrary. For a 5×5 grid with m mines, the probability of revealing k safe tiles in a row is the product of (25 − m − i) ÷ (25 − i) for i from 0 to k−1. The payout is 0.99 divided by that probability — the 0.99 being a 1% house edge.
That single formula generates every number in the ladder above, and it is the same one real-money Mines games use. Which means the multipliers you see here are the multipliers you would see anywhere, and any site advertising "better Mines odds" is describing the same maths with different marketing.
Reading The Ladder
The calculator shows two numbers for every step: what it pays and how likely you are to get there. Look at them together. With three mines, clearing fifteen tiles pays 18.98× — which sounds excellent until you notice it happens about once every twenty rounds, and that 18.98 × 0.052 comes to roughly 0.99. Every row does. That is the house edge, visible.
There is a pleasing symmetry worth knowing: one mine cleared across all 24 safe tiles and 24 mines survived on a single click both pay exactly 24.75×. Every configuration carries the identical edge, so no mine count is better than another — you are only choosing variance.
Using It To Set An Exit Rule
The practical use of a Mines calculator is deciding where to stop before you start. Pick the multiplier you want, read off the probability, and ask whether you would accept those odds if they were written on a lottery ticket. Most people would not take a 5% shot at 19× — but the same bet feels very different when it arrives one tile at a time.

What The Calculator Will Not Do
It cannot tell you where the bombs are, because nothing can. Tile positions are randomised before your first click and are independent of the order you reveal them, so no clicking pattern, no "cold tile" heuristic and no predictor script changes anything. Any tool sold on that promise is a scam.
It also cannot make Mines profitable. Every row of the ladder returns 99% of stake. The calculator makes the game legible, not beatable.
