Stake Stats — Session & Wager Analyser
The numbers most players never work out. Put in your turnover, the house edge of the games you play and how fast you bet, and this shows expected loss, cost per hour, and what your figures mean for VIP progression.

The Numbers Most Players Never Calculate
Almost everyone can tell you whether they are up or down. Very few can tell you their turnover, their expected loss, or what an hour of play costs them on average. Those three numbers describe the activity far better than a running balance does, because a balance is mostly noise and expected loss is the signal underneath it.
The calculator above converts bet size, bet frequency and house edge into figures you can actually reason about. It stores nothing — everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
How Expected Loss Works
Expected loss is turnover multiplied by house edge. Nothing more complicated than that. Wager $10,000 across games with an average 2% edge and the expected cost is $200 — regardless of whether you finish the session up $500 or down $900.
The confusing part is that expected loss and actual result almost never match in a short run. Variance dominates a session; the edge dominates a year. Both are true at once, and the gap between them is what makes gambling feel beatable when it is not.
House Edge By Game
| Game | Typical house edge | Cost per $10,000 wagered |
|---|---|---|
| Blackjack (basic strategy) | 0.5% | $50 |
| Crypto dice / crash / limbo | 1.0% | $100 |
| Baccarat (banker) | 1.06% | $106 |
| European roulette | 2.70% | $270 |
| American roulette | 5.26% | $526 |
| Slots (typical) | 3–6% | $300–$600 |
| Keno | 4–10% | $400–$1,000 |
The spread is enormous. The same $10,000 of turnover costs $50 at a good blackjack table and up to $1,000 on keno. Game selection is the largest single decision available to a player, and it is made before any bet is placed.
Cost Per Hour
The most useful framing we know: treat gambling as an entertainment purchase and work out its hourly price. Three hundred bets an hour at $2 average with a 3% edge costs about $18 per hour on average. That is a reasonable price for an evening's entertainment, and it is a completely different conversation from "I hope to win".
Run your own numbers above. If the hourly figure is comfortable, you have a hobby with a known cost. If it is not, the calculator has done its job.
Turnover And VIP Progress
The same turnover figure that produces your expected loss is what drives VIP progression. Our Stake VIP level calculator converts it into tiers, and the wager calculator shows what a bonus requirement costs on top.
